Connor Price’s Platform Outline

Abortion:  Connor Price believes a woman has the right to make decisions regarding her own body. The decision to have an abortion is a personal choice of a woman, and the government must protect this right. Women must have access to affordable, safe, legal and humane abortions.

Economy: The Price campaign believes in a market system in which government regulates the economy.  Government must protect citizens from the greed of big business. Public interest will boost the economy, and there should be some sort of regulation.

Energy:  Other sources of energy, aside from oil, need to be explored.  The government must produce a national plan for renewable energy and pay for its research and production.  Connor Price supports increased exploration of alternative energy sources such as wind and solar power.

Gun Control: CP believes in universal background checks. These background checks will look for history of mental illness and violence. In addition,  assault weaponry isn’t necessary for self defense.

Healthcare: Connor Price supports a single payer healthcare system. The current system is too intricate and complex, costing Americans too much money. Single payer healthcare would reduce these costs. Every American has a right to affordable health care.  The government should provide equal health care benefits for all, regardless of their ability to pay.

Immigration: Qualified immigrants who are looking to work or pursue higher education in the United States are permitted. Those with the skills needed in America will be allowed entry.  Immigrants who are legal and are working have the same rights as every other American.  Those that are illegal, commit crimes and don’t obey the law don’t have the same rights.

Same-sex Marriage: Marriage is the union of people who love each other and those of all sexual orientation should be allowed to marry.

Minimum Wage: Minimum wage should be adjusted to inflation. The current minimum wage needs to be adjusted to inflation rates over the past several decades, bringing it up to between $9.25 and $10.25

Foreign Policy: The United States is spending too much money abroad. We need to reduce foreign expenditures in the Middle East and use this to raise the standard of living domestically.

Welfare: The Price campaign believes in providing welfare to those who need it. However, it also believes that those on welfare need to work and provide for their country while on welfare. This is why the Price campaign plans to create a program that would hire those on welfare and provide them jobs that would help them serve their country.
